hiccups

Almost every night my baby gets the hiccups. At first I thought it was pretty cute...and sometimes it still is, like when little kids want to feel the baby. But when I'm trying to sleep it gets a little old. How can a baby who is not breathing air get the hiccups? I dunno. At least I know he's still doing good in the oven. :)

35 weeks

Josh did such a great job painting our nursery. I painted the easy stuff (big white walls where you just roll on the paint) and Josh did the argyle wall. It turned out great!

I'm at 35 weeks.. i feel so ridiculously huge but I'm pretty lucky that my pregnancy has gone so great so far. 5 weeks left (or so the doctor guesses) till we get to bring home our little baby boy and let him try out his new room.... and I get to start feeling less large. yay!

sick tuesdays...

Since I'm in my third trimester, I've been feeling much better with the whole morning sickness thing. Every once in awhile it hits again for about a day. This Tuesday and last Tuesday was a sick day.... why does it hit so random?! I just don't get it. Thank goodness for zofran... the little miracle pill that dissolves in my mouth and makes me feel all better!

Quick updates... I am at 33 and 1/2 weeks and counting down! It is coming so fast. Josh and I have been working on the nursery and it's turning out super cute. I'll post pics soon. We got our crib and changing table all set up and I have a couple of baby showers coming up (I'm so spoiled)... and then this baby is going to come and turn my world upside-down! Josh and I are very excited.

My Mom and I picked up Heidi from the airport. She was so cute and cried she was so happy! She actually made me tear up a bit too... darn girl. :) We drove home and she kept pointing funny things out like.. "Wow, I forgot how big mountains are!" And.. "There are so many churches here!" She will head back to Iowa to finish her semester and then be home for Christmas. Yay! On our way home we also listened to KSL as they continued to warn about the awesome blizzard coming our way...

Josh came home early from work and we are waiting for it to hit! Come on already... snow!! I'm actually really excited! Good luck to those who have to travel in it. Hopefully this blizzard lives up to all the hype. I love a big storm, especially when I'm sitting at home watching it. Hope everyone is safe tonight and.... I hope everyone gets Wednesday off because of all the snow. A girl can wish. :) Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you really think of all the things that we are truly blessed with.

Halloween

We forgot to take pictures, but I thought I'd post a little blurb about Halloween since it's been awhile since my last post. On Halloween-eve Josh and I went to a Halloween party across the street to a neighbor's house. (We just left a bowl of candy on the porch and hoped that maybe we'd get some trick-or-treaters.) Well... about an hour before the party starts I ask my neighbor if it's a costume party (Of course it is... it's Halloween!). Josh and I head off to Walmart to figure something out.

Josh got the hockey mask for $2

And I got a cute tiger mask, tail, and bowtie for $5.
(Don't you love Walmart?)

OK, so I didn't look like this but I couldn't find a picture that looked like me... so this is close to how cute I looked.

Long story short, our costumes turned out way fun. We were able to meet more people in our neighborhood, eat lots of yummy homemade pizza, and there was some intense ping-pong going on that night. Luckily I still have a few years till my baby will be ready to trick-or-treat... so maybe we can throw a party like this next year. Happy Halloween everybody!

Keeping it secret no more...

On Tuesday, August 24th, Josh and I went to our ultrasound appointment. Josh kept telling everyone that we are going to have a boy, mainly just because his mom said she thought it was a girl. He was right! We are having a boy!

IT'S A BOY!

The ultrasound was WAY fun actually. My baby was moving all over the place and the technician was chasing him across my belly. We were able to see him grab his toes, open his mouth and stick out his tongue, and just move, move, move! We are so excited! I am almost 21 weeks along so we are half way there. We haven't thought of any names yet but we figure we've got plenty of time.

New addition...

Here is Sadie helping Josh drive home from Brigham City

Her first day home. This is when she was excited and jumping around.

Always wants to be sleeping where I am. She is good about going to bed in her kennel at night.

I just wanted to show off our new addition to the family. First off, Josh and I went to the doctor to find out whether we are having a boy or a girl... :) I'll post later about that. Then we went up to Brigham City to see two different dogs (both of which I found on KSL). One was an adorable Maltipoo puppy, about 9 weeks old. The other was a 5 year old female purebred boxer. I never thought I would pick a 5 year old dog over an adorable puppy, but she was so cute and I think she fits right in with our little family. Her name is Sadie Sue. She has a lot of training to work on, but so far she is pretty good.

The first day we got her I dropped her off at home and had to run to work for a couple hours. Josh came home to her first mess... she went through the pantry and pulled out bags of rice as well as a bag or marshmallows of which she consumed. I think she had a stomach ache the first night. The third day having her (Thursday the 26th) she snagged an entire loaf of bread off of the counter and ate the whole thing while I was at work. (Josh is out of town this week so I have her all to myself this first week having her.) She also decided something smelled good in our garbage-can and decided to sort through that. And to top it off, she left me a nice little wet spot on the carpet. So much for the 5 year old part huh?

She is not all bad, in fact most of the time she just steals my heart completely . She loves to give kisses and sit right on/next to me, and she loves to be in whatever room I am in even if I am just taking my pregnant nap of the day. She does this cute hop/bounce springy jump when she is excited to see me or knows we are going for a walk... and she loves to cuddle with me. Luckily she is a small boxer or I would be in trouble. We are having a lot of fun getting to know each other and I definitely enjoy the company since my husband is traveling. I'm sure there will be more fun to come with sweet Sadie.

p.s. I gave our two adorable cats, Kramer and Lucy, to my sister who lives on a ton of land. Lucy had cute kittens and Kramer found a new home at my sister's Mother-in-Law's house. They are actually very happy there and I am relieved that they are doing so well and (I think) in a happier place.
